Fine Ways To Get Rid
Of Freckles

You can get rid of freckles to a large extent with natural means. All may not necessarily go but the spots can be
tremendously reduced.

Freckles are pigmented skin cells that can be found on the skin. They are usually found on people with fair skin. They are small like the head of a pin, and are usually tan or light brown.

They are common among kids. Some people get them in their growing years, and women often get them in their forties. This has no relationship to menopause in women. The easiest and purest way to minimize them is through natural remedies.

They are not harmful. Freckle spots have melanin, and can be triggered by exposure to sunlight.  This is because melanin is produced by the body to protect itself against the sun rays. The intensity of the sunburn triggers more melanin to be produced which causes the freckles to get darker.

Ways to get rid of freckles

Lentils and lime juice home remedy

Soak 1 tablespoon of lentils in water for a few hours. Drain and grind the lentils to a coarse paste and add few drops of lime juice to it. Use this as a face pack once a week for treatment to get rid of freckles to a large extent.

Pumpkin seeds and olive oil

Get some raw and fresh pumpkin seeds (not in shell), and mash about a cup full. Add 6 drops of olive oil in ¼ cup of mashed pumpkin seeds, and apply the paste over spot areas of the body to make them disappear eventually.

Let it stay on for about 20 minutes before washing it off. Repeat this remedy often.

Camomile tea and bath water remedy

This treatment is also useful for dark freckles. Add 3 cups of chamomile tea to your bath water after being exposed to sunlight. This helps to fade the dark dots.

Egg, sugar and lemon juice remedy

Beat 1 egg white in a bowl and add one tablespoon each of sugar and lemon juice to it. Apply the content over the freckled area at night and let it stay till morning and wash it off with water.

Horseradish and apple cider cure

Add 1 tablespoon of horseradish to a bowl and spread it out evenly. Add enough apple cider vinegar to cover the horseradish.
Set it aside for 10 days, and strain to get fine liquid. Dilute it with equal amount of water and apply to freckles with cotton ball to reduce them or to get rid of freckles.

You may let it stay on for about 20 minutes before washing it off.
Do not use the liquid around the eyes and on irritated skin. Keep the rest of the liquid in a tightly closed container.

Buttermilk and horseradish treatments

Mix together 6 tablespoons of buttermilk and 1 tablespoon of grated horseradish. Smear your affected areas with light natural oil to avoid any mild skin bleaching before applying the mixture to the body.

Allow it stay on for about 25 minutes before you wash it off with warm water. After that, apply some natural skin moisturizer on the body. Repeat these treatments for a few more times to reduce the dark speckle.

Elder flowers for treatment

Take a handful of elder flowers and leaves, and add a pint of boiling water to it. Let it steep for 1½ hours and strain to get clear liquid. Reheat the liquid and dip a clean cloth in it to use as compress for treatment.

Dandelion and castor oil remedy

This remedy can fight away freckles. Tear 4 clean medium-size dandelion leaves into pieces and add 5 tablespoons of castor oil to it in an enamel or glass bowl. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes. Remove from heater and steep with bowl covered for 3 hours.

Strain the mixture and pour it in a bottle. Apply some to the spotted area and leave it on overnight. Rinse it off with warm water in the morning. Repeat the process for a week to get rid of freckles as much as possible.

Potato water

One simple method to use for freckle treatment is potato water. Cut 2 large potatoes into two parts and boil them in 4 cups of water until they are cooked. Do not use potatoes that are green tinged or sprouting because they may be concentrated with solanine (a toxic alkaloid) that may affect nerve impulse and induce diarrhea, vomiting, and cramps.

Let the water cool down a little and dip a washcloth in it. Wring it and apply the cloth to the affected area for about 10 minutes daily until you begin to see results.

Other methods

One other way you can reduce sun spots is to cut a raw and fresh eggplant and rub it on the affected area daily. Or, you may rub some crushed cranberries on the skin daily.
Also, scientific research has concluded that eating more refined sugar can cause freckles to be darker, so you might want to consider reducing its consumption. This could help get rid of freckles to your liking.

With these simple methods available, you should be able to try one of them. However these natural ways do not surpass medical attention so do not hesitate to call for medical help if need be. Anyway many women are no longer seeing freckles as a disadvantage.
