Natural Treatment for Severe Foot Pain

When you have severe foot pain, you may experience numbness or swelling and aches. You can also feel some tenderness and bruising in the feet. The symptoms of foot pain are usually caused by a disorder of the bones, joints, or nerves.

Many different issues can also trigger foot pain such as poor posture, flat feet, gout problem, ingrown toenail, calluses, plantar fasciitis, arthritis problem, bunion, corns, hammer toe.

Home remedies for foot pains

Oatmeal and almond soothe

You may experience sore feet pain from weak leg muscles or if you sit most of the day. You can treat this with this natural remedy mentioned below before you go to bed.

  • ¼ cup of dried oatmeal
  • ¼ cup of ground almond (coarsely)
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 3 tablespoons of cocoa butter

Combine and mix all the ingredients together and massage your legs with it. Put on clean cotton socks and go to bed with it. Remove it in the morning and rinse legs with cold water and feel the relief from severe foot pain. 

Alka seltzer treatment

This remedy is for general pain in the feet. Put four alka seltzer tablets into a pan of warm water, and place your feet in the alkaline solution for about 15 minutes to reduce the pain. Do not do it if you are allergic to aspirin, an ingredient of alka seltzer.

Oatmeal and condensed milk remedy

Mix 1 cup of oats meal, ½ cup of condensed milk, and 1/3 cup of honey in a dish pan. Place your feet in the pan and rub the content on your feet back and forth. Let it sit and soak for 20 minutes to reduce the severe foot pain.

Cucumber remedy for severe foot pain

Whether it is outside foot pain or foot joint pain, you can apply this home remedy to any kind of pain in the feet. Chop enough cucumbers into a blender and blend to make 2 big bowls that you can place your feet into. Sit down and place your feet in the two bowls of ground cucumber for about 30 minutes for relief while you listen to music or read something.

Burning feet remedies

You may experience scorching soles or tingling toes caused by nerve inflammation. This can be a result of shoes without access to air, socks materials that retain perspiration, dyes in hosiery that cause allergic reaction, athletic shoes with rubber compound, or leather tanning chemicals. Try to make changes and see if the severe foot pain and burning can be reduced.

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • ⅓ cup of lemon juice

Mix all these together in the bowl of cool water and use it as a foot bath remedy for foot pain and burning sensation. If the burning in the foot does not go away contact your medical attendant. It could be an infection.

Remedies for lesser foot pain

If your pains are not very serious then you can try this simple remedy. Soak your feet in a pan full of warm water mixed with 3 tablespoons of mustard for pain in foot.

Hot water and ice remedy

Fill one basin with ½ cup of Epsom salt and hot water, and fill another one with ice. Put your feet in the hot water for 1 minute, (do not go above one minute) and then in the ice cube for 30 seconds.
Repeat this process for 10 minutes, and you will notice a remarkable improvement. This remedy may also help control high blood pressure and prevent varicose veins.

Turnip for relief

Cut turnip green into pieces and boil it until it’s soft. Mash it and apply the content to the bottom and top of your feet and bandage them in place. Take a rest for 30 minutes with your feet elevated above the ground. This remedy can draw out the pain and reduce severe foot pain problem.


Homeopathic remedy

Arnica: Arnica can be used to ease severe foot pain that rises out of excessive gym exercise or minor accident such as stubbing a toe. Go with the recommended dosage but remember to consult your medical assistant concerning homeopathic treatment because they are very potent.

Petroleum method: Petroleum remedy is good for treating the soles of the feet that experience pain when walking on a hard surface.

Footwears

Change heel heights

If you wear high heels a lot, your calf muscles can be tightened and this can lead to foot fatigue.

Do your best to limit the usage of high heel shoes. Use low risk shoes such as athletic and casual sneakers to reduce severe foot pain that occurs. 

Avoid constricting foot wears

Constricting foot wears can lead to a burning pain and cramping in-between the third and fourth toes. This is known as neuroma. Walking on hard surfaces with high heel shoes can also cause neuroma.

Wear wider shoes, and insoles for shoes needed. When you add insoles to shoes you already have, you might want to stretch the shoes.

Here is a simple remedy for that. Fill a sock with sand and stuff it into your shoe’s toe-box. Wrap a wet towel around the shoe and let it dry out over the next 24 hours. Repeat this process if needed.


Also do remember to do some exercise. Give your feet a good shake when they are tense and cramped. Flex your toes up and down, and do a little bit of walking if you stand too long.
